What we collect when you book a puja, order from the marketplace or watch a live darshan — and how we protect it.

Last updated: 11 August 2026

1. Information we collect

Account details: your name, email address, phone number and preferred language when you create a KumbhConnect account or sign in with Google.

Booking details: the puja or ritual selected, ghat or temple location, date and time slot, number of participants, gotra or sankalp details you voluntarily provide, and any notes shared with the assigned pundit.

Order details: marketplace items purchased, delivery address, and order history.

Payment information: transaction identifiers, amount, status and payment method type. Full card, UPI credentials and bank details are handled directly by our PCI-compliant payment partners and are never stored on KumbhConnect servers.

Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, approximate region and usage events, used to keep the service secure and to improve crowd and capacity planning.

2. How we use your information

To confirm, deliver and support your bookings and orders, including sharing the minimum necessary details with the pundit, vendor or travel partner fulfilling your request.

To send transactional communication: booking confirmations, slot reminders, darshan alerts, delivery updates and refund notices.

To operate safety and crowd-management features during Simhastha Kumbh 2027 in aggregated, non-identifying form.

To prevent fraud, abuse and duplicate bookings, and to comply with applicable Indian law.

3. Sharing with third parties

Pundits and vendors listed on KumbhConnect are independent third-party service providers. We share only the details required to fulfil your booking or order — typically your name, contact number, booking slot and delivery address.

We share data with payment gateways, logistics partners, SMS/email providers and cloud infrastructure providers strictly for service delivery.

We may disclose information to government or law-enforcement authorities where required by law or for pilgrim safety during the Kumbh.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data retention and security

Booking and order records are retained for up to 7 years to satisfy tax, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements. Account data is retained until you delete your account.

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel. Row-level access controls ensure you can only read your own bookings, orders and profile.

5. Your rights

You may access and update your profile at any time from the account area. You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account by writing to support@kumbhconnect.in.

You may opt out of promotional messages at any time; transactional messages related to an active booking will continue.

6. Children and cookies

KumbhConnect is not intended for users under 13. Bookings for minors must be made by a parent or guardian.

We use essential cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions, language and theme preferences. Disabling these may break sign-in.
